Athletics is a major sport in the Summer Term at Hurst. The club has weekly meetings for each age group – Juniors/Intermediates and Seniors against other local Schools.
On an annual basis the School is also highly successful at the Sussex Schools’ and Sussex AAA’s Championships. Our athletes are able to train three times each week and benefit from some excellent coaching both from internal and external coaches. Indeed over recent seasons the School has recruited the services of some highly renowned external coaches to further develop our track and field athletes.
At present we have a number of outstanding young athletes who are likely to continue to achieve national success next year. To conclude, Hurst has an extremely proud tradition of Athletics and, without doubt, we are one of the major forces in Schools’ athletics in the county and beyond.
