How many musicians can you fit into a bus shelter? Plenty; with room left over for music stands, a drum kit and even a conductor!
Hurst College was invited to provide music before the grand unveiling of the Hurst Christmas lights on 1st December. In festive mood, the College musicians from the Jazz Band, Brass Group together with an assortment of singers, braved the elements to provide half an hour of entertainment before the lights were officially switched on.
With some creative thinking to avoid getting drenched in the rain, we commandeered the local bus shelter and set up stall. The Jazz Band then treated locals to festive favourites including “Frosty the Snowman” and “Rocking around the Christmas Tree”. This was supplemented with some hearty rousing carol singing accompanied admirably by the Brass Group. Christmas is officially underway.
