Peerless performances from soft jazz to hard rock

Hurst 'n' brie a triumph

Bands, soloists and ensembles from Prep School to Sixth Form created an astonishing festival of music yesterday (Saturday 26th June). More words later but, for the moment, click above to listen to brief excerpts and then let the pictures blow tell the story of a sunny evening's stunning entertainment that, in its final stages, had the entire audience on its feet, cheering and clapping and 'rocking'.

Congratulations to every single musician who took part, to Neil Matthews and his colleagues in the Music Department including, of course, the legendary Derek Austin who created, masterminded and hosted this tour de force (and who revealed whilst we were all captivated by a wonderful, and beautifully sung, treatment of The House of the Rising Sun that he had - in times gone by - toured with Eric Burdon).

Cognoscenti of dance styles may like to mark, and learn from, the final picture in this sequence ...
