Hurst 1st X1 start season with style

Hurst's Jack Parsons in action

The first few days of the cricket season have gone well for Hurstpierpoint College who won their first school fixture of the season against Worth School and then faced Brighton College in the first round of the Langdale Twenty20 Cup (a fiercely contested competition between St Bede's, Seaford College, Ardingly College, Eastbourne College, Brighton College, Worth School and Lancing College).

“It was” said Hurst’s Head of Cricket Greg Haines “the tough match that we expected, but a superb innings by Sussex Academy player and Hurst 1st XI captain, Jack Parsons (35 including 6 fours and a six) and great work by many other players including Jay Barclay (2 wickets for 9 runs off 3 overs), Ollie Meredith and Jack Stone enabled us to deliver a six wicket win”.

Hurst next face St Bede's in the semi final of the Langdale Twenty20 on 11th May and, if they are successful, will play in the final on the same day.
