Tim Manly praises a ‘remarkable’ year group
“I’m very pleased indeed with our A level results this year” is Tim Manly’s verdict on this morning’s news. “Although we cannot be absolutely certain of the final figures until the inevitable re-marks have been completed, I believe that our performance will more than match last year’s excellent results”.
“I am all the more delighted because of the enormous contribution to College life that this remarkable year-group has made both collectively and as individuals. Thanks to their example and leadership, the quality and range of Hurst’s achievements in the creative, dramatic and performing arts and on the sports field over the last twelve months have been simply outstanding.
“It’s a tribute to their strength of character, too, that this year group has prospered and thrived during a period when Hurst has undergone so many of the fundamental changes required to ensure that it delivers, and can continue to deliver, a rigorous and really first-class academic education alongside the school’s rich sporting, cultural and creative provision.
“The fact is that this year’s results are the outcome of a great deal of very hard work by some wonderful young men and women. I congratulate them all. Throughout, their parents have been exceptionally supportive and I must also acknowledge the extraordinary dedication and commitment of so many Hurst staff who have enthusiastically contributed so much more than anyone could reasonably demand.
“Whatever path they have chosen for the future, I know that they will acquit themselves well and continue to strive to be the very best that they can be in every aspect of their lives”.
