Activities Programme

Opportunites abound for a broad and diverse programme of extra-curricular activities for Hurst students. This rich programme is designed to encourage all our pupils to strengthen existing skills but more importantly to move beyond their Activities programme - dancecomfort zone and try new activities and gain new experiences in a safe environment whilst supported and coached by experts in their field.

The Shell (Year 9) and Remove (Year 10) Activities Afternoon on Thursdays includes clubs for Bridge, Books, Dance, Drama, Electronics/Astronomy, Fencing, Film, Golf (at driving range), Kaactivities Shell climbing wallrate, Personal Fitness (led by the College's fitness trainer, Rob Smith), Poetry, Polo, Puzzles and Shooting alongside clubs for the creative arts, sport and ICT.

A host of additional activities are scheduled during the week, including fitness training, swimming and other sports, along with sessions for climbing and kayaking, drama, orchestra, dance - from street jazz to Hurst’s own dance company “Est 07activities kayaking” - , the Top House competition, debating, workshops for Art and D&T students, with Chess, Textiles and Warhammer specifically for Shell students.
