Sport

The PE programme includes gymnastics, dance, games and swimming and is taught by PE specialists. The children will have one lesson of swimming, PE and games each week, in which they will learn basic skills, safety, self-expression and teamwork.

Games

The Games and PE lessons will encompass movement, ball skills, co-ordination, manipulation, control and co-operation. These will take place both inside and outdoors, depending on the weather.

Swimming

Children will have swimming in small groups, the size of the group will depend on the age/ability of the children. Lessons are geared towards gaining water confidence and developing competent stroke techniques in a safe and happy environment.

Yoga

Taught by a specialist who visits the school weekly. Yoga develops balance, posture and core stability. Children learn moves through drama and stories.

 

Within and beyond the curriculum, exceptional teaching, coaching and mentoring ensures our young pupils receive the help and guidance they need to feel secure as they explore and enjoy new interests.

Gymnastics, dance, yoga, individual and team activities and sports are introduced progressively and appropriately as co-ordination, control, skills and understanding increase. Our children use the College’s playing fields, courts, astroturfs, a dedicated Games Room and indoor swimming pool.
