The second floor of the library is reserved for the Sixth Form. Light and airy, this is a quiet space for students to work. There are computers but also plenty of space for students’ own devices. The offices for both Careers and UCAS members of staff are on this floor, as is the Head of Sixth Form, making it very easy for pupils to seek advice.
The books on this floor are aimed at the Sixth Form student, providing ample opportunity for further reading on subjects, as well as other areas not covered in A-levels, such as Law.
Library support for the Sixth Form extends beyond the confines of the physical space. The library provides access to electronic resources, like Questia School, JSTOR and Economist Online. Students can also request materials and we are able to borrow from The British Library. Library staff specialise in referencing and bibliography and can give advice as well as providing help with literature searching.
