General admissions process for all year groups

Taster days and assessments

We welcome pupils for taster days when they can join pupils in their year group, participate in lessons, activities and join them for lunch. This is a valuable opportunity for your child to feel less anxious about a potential school move.

Year 7 entry (11+)

Applications for 2024 entry are now closed. Please contact Admissions to discuss late applications.

Assessment days are held in late November of Year 6. Pupils sit Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning tests, which are standardised tests to measure ability and attainment. These tests are designed so that pupils do not need to prepare for them, in order to give fair results. In addition, pupils will be asked to complete a writing task and will participate in interactive tasks which will usually include Design and Technology, Science and games. All pupils will have an interview with a senior member of staff and join current pupils for lunch.

All pupils sitting the Year 7 assessments will be automatically considered for an Academic Scholarship based on the results of the tests.

Year 3 entry (7+)

Applications are still being accepted for 2024 entry. Please contact Admissions to find out more.

Assessments for entry into Year 3 will be held during the Michaelmas (Autumn) term of Year 2. Pupils will be invited to spend the morning with current Year 2 pupils, joining them for lunch in the dining hall before completing a small number of entry tests. The tests will consist of Maths, English and Reasoning.

Assessment days are held in November of the year prior to entry.
