Netball - Hurstpierpoint College

Netball

Training

Netball is a main sport for girls during the Lent term. As with our other sports, we run several teams in each age group to cater for all abilities with 23 Senior School teams with regular fixtures. An extensive pre-season training programme runs throughout the Michaelmas term alongside focused sessions for elite players.

Fixtures and tournaments

Netball has a full fixture card on Saturdays, as well as midweek, and accommodates all teams with competitive matches both in and out of the county.

National competitions begin at the start of the school year, in the Michaelmas term. Our U14A, , U16A and 2nd VII VII play in the Sisters ‘n’ Sport National Cup; our U14A, U16A and 1st VII compete in the Sussex round of the National Schools competition; and our U15A and 1st VII also play in the Independent Schools National Cup. In the netball term our 14B, 15B, 16B and 2nd VII compete in the Sussex Cup. Our A teams also compete in SISNA (Sussex Independent Schools Netball Association) tournament which is hosted at Hurst.

Facilities

Hurst offers 10 dedicated netball courts, including an indoor court.
