    Head of Estates

    Hurstpierpoint College is seeking to appoint an individual to the role of Head of Estates, who is  responsible to the COO (who reports to the Headmaster). This role has responsibility for the College’s buildings, current and future projects as well as other management functions.  These responsibilities include overseeing the management of an effective preventive and reactive maintenance regime for the College’s estate, including all buildings, plant and machinery, together with improvement, refurbishment and development works to the highest appropriate standard possible.

    The successful candidates will possess:

    • A degree or equivalent qualification in estates management or related discipline (such as RICS, Facilities Management, RIBA etc.)
    • Professional Institute membership; (Building Service Engineers, Facilities Management, Chartered Surveyor or similar)

    The starting salary is negotiable and dependent upon qualifications and previous experience.

    Academic Administration Assistant


    Hurstpierpoint College is seeking to appoint an Academic Admiunistration Registrar. The main responsibility of the job holder is to assist in the day-to-day management of the Academic Administration of the School.

    The jobholder will assist in a range ofadministrative and secretarial duties, the key ones being:

    Data Management

    • The management of pupil data on the College database from point of entry (in collaboration with the Admissions staff) to leaving, including the entry of some data and all subsequent updating.
    • The production of management information and reports, including class lists and set lists.

    General Academic Administration

    • Administration of the long-term and emergency staff cover programme.
    • The administration of parents’ meetings and sixth form choices mornings, including the preparation of labels, timetables and other information.
    • Administration of internal exams, including checking, photocopying and collating papers as required.
    • Creation of sets, classes, pupil subject-choice lists and subsequent updates.
    • Producing and updating various booklets for parents, including curriculum and options booklets, revision booklets, etc and printing these in conjunction with the Common Room Secretary.

    The post is full time, term time only (36 weeks per year), including working for 2 weeks from the Monday before the A Level results are published. Normal working hours are from 8.00am to 4.30pm Monday - Friday with a one hour (unpaid) break for lunch.

    There maybe some flexibility regarding hours worked each week and we would be happy to discuss this at interview.

    Assistant to the Fleet Manager

    The main duty of the jobholder is to ensure, in the absence of the Fleet Manager, the efficient running of the College's fleet of vehicles, overseeing the management of the minibuses, drivers and transport management systems.

    This will include:

    • To deal with emergencies involving College transport and to be prepared and able to resolve transport problems as they occur
    • To allocate drivers, if necessary in conjunction with the Fleet Manager, to the various routes in a fair and equitable manner.
    • To discuss with the drivers any alterations to routes due to road works, etc.
    • To liaise with the SchoolSafe Control Centre on matters relating to the morning and evening bus runs, including advising of any pupil absences and changes of driver/route allocations.

    Pre-Prep Teaching Assistant (one year ftc)

    Hurstpierpoint College is seeking to appoint an individual to provide classroom support to the teacher, pupils and existing teaching assistant in year 2 of the Pre-Prep school. The successful candidate will hold a CACHE Level 3 or equivalent qualification.  This is a term time only role, 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday with half an hour for lunch (although there may be some flexibility in hours).

    A candidate qualified to CACHE level 3 could expect a salary of £16,608 pa.

    Bank School Nurse(s)

    Hurstpierpoint College is seeking to appoint additional Bank School Nurses to work with the school nursing team in the School Medical Centre.

    The Medical Centre is open from 7.30 am to 7 pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30 am to 6.00 pm on Friday. It has two treatment rooms and two two-bedded wards for pupils requiring bed care.

    The Medical Centre team provides first aid to all pupils, staff and visitors to the College, as well as advice and triage as appropriate.

    Must be registered with NMC and have experience of being a practice or school nurse (or equivalent).

    Pay: £17.62 per hour.

    Morning and Afternoon Minibus Drivers

    Are you looking for a part time fexible job with long holidays?  Hurst is looking for school minibus drivers to work mornings (6.15am - 8.15am) and/or late afternoons (6pm - 8pm) for up to 5 days a week, during term time only.
