Outdoor Education Climbing

Climbing

Climbing is a hugely popular activity and Hurst has a fully equipped wall.

Sessions

During the Spring and Summer students have the opportunity to travel further afield to tackle some of the many outdoor climbing spots in Sussex and the South West of England. The department also runs various weekend trips for students who want to gain a wider range of skills.

Competitions

Our strong teams compete in both local and national competitions, including the Sussex Independent Schools Climbing Competition (SISCC), which we host, and the prestigious National Independent Schools’ Climbing Competition (NISCC) held in London.

This interactive training wall is built at a 25-degree angle and includes LED integration to illuminate different routes controlled by an app. The MoonBoard allows for endless variety and challenges and provides students with the best preparation for local and national competitions.
